CHOCOLATY AND SWEET NUDE LIP GLOSS
This was one of my first attempts at lip gloss. My sister happened to be over that day, so obviously I used her as my test subject. Her first reaction was “this smells like chocolate”; “yup it has cocoa butter in it; try it on”; “Oh, this tastes sweet”; “yup there’s honey in it”. Now this gloss doesn’t have much pigment to it, but it gives a nice glossy finish to the lips; tastes sweet and smells chocolaty; can’t beat that. If you want the gloss to have a shimmer to it add the gold mica, but this is optional.
This recipe fills four 8ml gloss tubes
INGREDIENTS
17g Castor oil
9 g Shea Butter
3 g Macadamia nut oil
3.5 g Beeswax
2 g Cocoa butter
2g Vegetable glycerine
1g Honey
2 g French pink clay
1/2 tsp Silk powder
1/8 tsp Vitamin E
1/8 tsp Grapefruit Seed Extract (GFSE)
pinch of gold mica (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
In a double boiler mix castor oil, shea butter, macadamia nut oil, beeswax and cocoa butter. Melt and incorporate well. In a separate bowl mix together the french clay, vegetable glycerine, and silk powder, mix well to make sure there are no clumps. Add the oil mixture to the clay mixture and make sure you continuously stir until the mixture cools (I usually place this bowl on top of another bowl with ice in it, to cool it down faster). Add in Vitamin E and GFSE extract. If you would like a shimmer to the gloss add in the gold mica. Transfer to lip gloss tubes.
